Format of Tuition: Teaching is contact-based, using problem solving and self-study. Learners is accompanied by tutors (registered pharmacists), in real life settings in pharmacies. The curriculum is outcomes-based. Successful candidates will be put on a HWSETA Learnership and Mediclinic (Pty) Ltd will carry all additional costs. Learners are responsible for the cost of any recommended books.

The National Consumer Tribunal (NCT) is offering part-time work for students as part of its adhoc contingent pool. Opportunities are available in the Law and Record Management unit

NCT Is an independent adjudicative body with jurisdiction throughout the Republic. Its purpose is to adjudicate on credit and consumer related matters provided for in the National Credit Act (NCA) and the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), and to rule on alleged contraventions of these Acts. The Tribunal hears and decides on applications and referrals involving consumers, credit providers, debt counsellors and credit bureaus.

The Tribunal requires records management and legal students to participate in its ad hoc contingent pool. These students are called upon from time to time to assist with administrative and other tasks during spikes in the Tribunal’s caseload.

Job Specification

  • The successful student will be involved and exposed to all aspects relating to the cases, from the filing of cases to the finalization of the cases and any other tasks as may be required to be performed.
  • Some of the activities will involve data capturing on our Case Management System the opening of case files, compiling the case reports, updating case statistics and performing administrative functions.

DURATION OF THE LEARNING PROGRAMME:

A learner embarking on this Qualification needs to obtain a minimum value of 120 credits to qualify for the Qualification; this learnership runs over a period of 12 months.

• Legislation regarding Occupational Health and Safety and applicable safety procedures in the workplace
• Appropriate actions to be taken with regards to hazards and emergency situations

To provide the shift foreman/line manager with the required support and feedback in terms of all operational requirements.

DEPARTMENT: Pelchem Production
SALARY BAND: Internship Stipend
POST STATUS: 12 months (1 year) contract position

Key Performance Areas:

  • Responsible for daily plant operation, process monitoring, record keeping and equipment checks related to the reactors, pump stations, vessels, etc.
  • tock control, ordering, handling and changing of all cylinders;
  • Fault finding;
  • Batch sample preparation and placement;
  • Handling and changing of all cylinders and or fluorination racks; and
  • Assist with packing of products before and loading/offloading of vehicles as and when required.

Job Requirements:

  • Medically fit to be registered as occupationally exposed worker (noise and chemical worker).
  • Good inter-personal as well as verbal & written communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good team player skills and time management.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and weekends as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 Certificate with Mathematics and Science
  • National Diploma in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering.
